Our Story:

  • We originally met online, through a very popular website, but our story does not start there. I was born and raised in Southern California and never intended to leave my bubble. She was traveling from city to city across the country finishing up her residency. Somehow our paths crossed. We had our first date in San Francisco, out of all places. She flew from Chicago and I from LA. We physically met for the first time, but it seemed like we knew each other our whole lives. Fast forward 4 years later, after several long distance flights and one romantic Hawaiian proposal, we are ceremonially united as one. Our story only begins from here.
  • Maid of honor: lives in Houston but originally from New Orleans (Ly Huong Pham) Bridesmaid: Maid of honor: lives in Houston but originally from New Orleans (Gina Do) Best man: Born and raised in Orange County, CA; flew in (Mason Wei) Groomsman: lives in Dallas; originally from Oklahoma (Peter Bui)
  • We live in Dallas currently, but this is a destination wedding for us both. We are both not from here. A lot of hard work and sacrifice was involved to make the weekend happen smoothly and perfectly.

Our Story:

Our Story began in the Fall of 2012 at a UNT Mean Green tailgate, our fraternity and sorority had been paired together for the weekend; being new to Greek Life we were socializing with new friends when we ran into each other during the tailgate. We quickly bonded over our love of country music, growing up in Texas, and spent a good part of the tailgate getting lost in conversation.

Over the next couple of years our friendship began to blossom as we spent more time together. You could often find us studying at the library, supporting each other in Greek life events, spending many evenings singing along to country songs in the car, or frequenting McAlister’s. There was a time that life took us in different directions and we lost touch, but that all changed back in November of 2016. Andre was in Dallas working when Katie and her roommate happened to run into him, with a blink of an eye it was like a spark had been connected. If you had been a fly on the wall that night you would have witnessed our friendship picking up right where it left off. It only took Andre a couple of weeks before he asked Katie to officially be his girlfriend, and in the race for love they were off. Katie and Andre now know that this was God’s plan for their lives, and are excited to see what the futures holds for them.

Scott and Hannah 1 19 2019

Scott and Hanna got hitched at the Castle at Rockwell on January 19, 2019

We started talking on Bumble for a few weeks. Scott asked Hannah to show him around her church on Sunday, July 3rd 2016 and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

2 1/2 years

Scott proposed to Hannah on her birthday, December 22, 2017. Hannah has planned her annual Christmas party for that day, so all of the family was coming over to celebrate. During the bustle of getting ready, Scott arranges for the families to show up for an engagement party instead of a Christmas party, and hid Hannah’s ring in a bowl of m&m’s. Scott asked Hannah to sit down and relax for a minute before the party mayhem began, and that’s when he got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of the m&’m jar.

We met in high school at his family produce stand. My mother had a little bit of a watermelon obsession and I happened to be grounded that day, so she made me drive her to the stand. When she saw Cole walk out to help us, she told me to get out of the car and get her watermelon. Being that I had on no makeup and a cute boy was working, I refused to get out. So as all smart mothers do, she had Cole carry the watermelon to the car inevitably seeing me! He later got my number and the rest is history!

One night we decided to go to a cute restaurant a few towns over. We ended up having a really great time! We decided we would go again and when the night came we got all dressed up. I had no idea. One night we decided to go to a cute restaurant a few towns over. We ended up having a really great time! We decided we would go again and Wednesday night came we got all dressed up. I had no idea that he was going to ask me to be his wife that night! I had always told Cole that it was going to be very hard to surprise me, but he proved me wrong. As we were praying over the meal, he began to pray for our future and our life as a married couple. Then he slid out of his chair, got on one knee, and asked me. It was perfect!

Our bridal party was made up of our closets friends from each phase of our lives. Friends that have been there from the beginning, and friends who we met later in life. It was amazing to see how everyone immediately clicked and it was as if we had all been lifelong friends.

I forgot my veil at home and realized it with only a few hours left before the ceremony. Because the guys didn’t want to try on their tuxes before leaving the store, one of the groomsman’s pants ended up being JR. sized. Cole’s brother-in-law has to run to town and buy him some regular black pants, however, he had to wear the jr. pants in all the photos!

The rusty pipe fittings and other rustic decor are all old oil well pieces from the oil wells that my grandfather and dad have kept throughout the years. It was so special getting to work something so meaningful in to the decorations!
